����Թ� will offer qualified Afghan refugees who settle in Chicago or nearby areas the opportunity to attend Northeastern through University-sponsored discretionary waivers that will cover the cost of tuition and fees for 12 credit hours in the current academic year. The initiative will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 15 continuing and prospective students.

The Chicago Cancer Health Equity Collaborative (ChicagoCHEC) has announced details for its 6th Annual Community Forum, which will take place virtually from 11 a.m-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, and Friday, Sept. 24, via Zoom.

Forty years ago, the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on Northeastern’s Main Campus. This week, Northeastern will commemorate the anniversary of the hearings with a special Japanese American Redress Conference, which will feature artists, activists and scholars from across the country to examine the significance and influence of the CWRIC hearings as well as how racism continues to impact non-white Americans. Beginning Fall 2021, Rashid will work alongside colleagues in the Goodwin College of Education, as well as others across the campus, to design and implement Northeastern's new Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Urban Education Program.
