Chicago Film Society Screenings at NEIU
SPRING 2025
This fall marks the 25th and final season of the in residence at NEIU. It has been a wonderful ten years of this collaboration where the NEIU community has been able to watch some of the greatest films of all time, lovingly projected on 35mm celluloid film. Thank you to everyone who has attended these film screenings!
This season鈥檚 line-up is one that you will not want to miss! We kick things off in the NEIU Auditorium on Wednesday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. with John Ford鈥檚 classic 1940 adaptation of John Steinbeck鈥檚 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, 鈥淭he Grapes of Wrath鈥 starring Henry Fonda.
Other highlights include 鈥淭he Love Parade鈥 (the 1929 Ernst Lubitsch film starring Jeanette MacDonald and Maurice Chevalier), 鈥淐orn鈥檚-A-Poppin鈥欌 (a CFS restoration of a 1955 film co-written by Robert Altman), 鈥淢y Winnipeg鈥 (Guy Maddin鈥檚 2007 鈥渄ocu-fantasia鈥 about his homeland of Canada), and 鈥淭he Band Wagon鈥 (Vincente Minnelli鈥檚 1953 Technicolor musical with more than one musical sequence that you will have to see to believe).
This is a rare opportunity to see these movies on actual 35mm film, so if you love cinema, don鈥檛 miss out! Check out the full schedule below.
