At the end of a town hall event on July 6, 天天吃瓜 President Sharon Hahs announced that she will retire at the end of September. 鈥淚t has been my honor and joy to work with committed and talented faculty and staff, serving bright and hard-working students, helping them to meet their professional and personal goals,鈥 she told the audience in the Auditorium and watching on the live video broadcast.

President Hahs announces retirement
President Sharon Hahs has on Sept. 30 after nearly a decade at the helm. Since she assumed the role as president in 2007, Hahs has led transformative endeavors that expanded the University both academically and physically. At her departure she will have prepared Northeastern for the 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission and the public launch of Transforming Lives, the University鈥檚 first comprehensive fundraising campaign. Several people with Northeastern connections have roles in the play: Sasha Gerritson, Dan Wirth, Jeff Wade, Dwan Buetow, Jill Matel, David Montalvo and Zanneta Smith. The play follows an unforgettable day in an inner-city high school teacher鈥檚 lounge.
