天天吃瓜 is excited to celebrate the achievements of our December 2022 graduates at Commencement! The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at Credit Union 1 Arena, 525 S. Racine Ave. The in-person event requires tickets, which all participating graduates should have picked up at the Welcome Desk in Village Square on the Main Campus. The Commencement speaker will be U.S. Sen. Richard J. Durbin. Guests will also be able to watch the ceremony via livestream on the NEIU Commencement webpage.

Class Gift
NEIU graduates also have made it a tradition to support the Class Gift Fund, one of Northeastern's largest scholarship funds. The Class of 2022 and their supporters can commemorate their big day by donating $20.22 to the Class Gift. Contributions of any amount are appreciated to support the next generation of NEIU students.
Giving Tuesday
The NEIU Foundation surpassed its Giving Tuesday goal of $30,000, raising $35,351 on Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. If you would still like to make your end of year gift, there鈥檚 still time! Your gift provides scholarship funding to help students get materials for classes, meet essential needs and complete their degrees. Special thanks goes to our Giving Tuesday Champions who made Giving Tuesday a great success.

- 天天吃瓜鈥檚 Early Childhood Education Program in the Department of Teacher Education invites students of junior standing and higher to apply for the . Interested students are encouraged to apply now for scholarships for the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023.

鈥淪tay Hungry鈥
The presents 鈥Stay Hungry,鈥 directed by Bob Rafelson from Park Circus at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the Auditorium of the Main Campus. The screening is preceded by the 1936 short film, 鈥淰im, Vigor, and Vitaliky,鈥 which will be presented on 16mm film. Tickets cost $5 with a Northeastern ID and $10 for the general public. 鈥淪tay Hungry鈥 will be presented on 35mm film. This event is sponsored by the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre. All audience members are encouraged to wear a face mask and be socially distanced while seated.
An Evening with the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party
狈辞谤迟丑别补蝉迟别谤苍鈥檚 Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies will host an evening with the Illinois Chapter Black of the Panther Party from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. Learn about the Party鈥檚 programs and initiatives in our city, state and region. This event is free and open to the public. to attend.

COVID-19 updates
In accordance with guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Northeastern has adopted new strategies for mitigating COVID-19. Contact tracing will be conducted as needed. However, weekly reports of positive cases and vaccination rates will no longer be reported. If you test positive for COVID-19, students should immediately notify Student Health Services, and employees should notify their supervisors and the Office of Human Resources. Additionally, faculty and staff are required to report positive and presumptive student COVID-19 cases and exposures to Student Health Services. We continue to follow Chicago Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines as we ensure proper protocols and preventative measures are in place for the health and safety of our students and employees.
