City honors
The City of Chicago has issued a resolution congratulating Northeastern on the sesquicentennial of the University. The resolution, which was introduced by Alderman Margaret Laurino, an alumna, passed on Nov. 8. , the resolution concludes, 鈥淏e it resolved, that we, the City of Chicago and members of the City Council gather here to congratulate 天天吃瓜 on its sesquicentennial celebration and extend our best wishes for continuing success and achievement.鈥 You can read more about Northeastern鈥檚 150-year history in the new book, 鈥,鈥 written by alumnus Richard Lindberg.
Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Town Hall

Wind Ensemble concert for charity
The Northeastern Wind Ensemble, conducted by Department of Music Acting Chair Travis Heath, was filmed by ABC7 during its coverage of the Salvation Army Benefit Concert at the Salvation Army Mayfair Community Church. More than 500 people attended the concert.

The Center for College Access and Success has been a partner in literacy program for low-income children that has a special twist. Featured by , SitStayRead uses certified reading assistance dogs to facilitate reading and writing development. SitStayRead has 79 Dog Teams and 149 volunteers, known as Book Buddies, according to RedEye.

Ensemble Espa帽ol Holiday Concerts
The will perform its annual holiday concert in the Auditorium on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16. The Ensemble鈥檚 full company will perform all three styles of Spanish dance: classical, folkloric/regional, and Flamenco in the traditional and contemporary forms. Tickets range from $15-$30, with a $5 discount for Northeastern students, faculty and staff.
