Beth Corrigan and Lindsay Darling of will deliver the keynote address during the 天天吃瓜 鈥檚 Seventh Annual Student Research Symposium on Sept. 18.
Corrigan, the arboretum鈥檚 Community Trees Program Specialist, and Darling, a Research Assistant I who researches the dynamics of forested ecosystems, will deliver their keynote address on the effects of urban forestry in the Chicago region.
The symposium showcases the research conducted through the SCSE鈥檚 summer internship program during which Northeastern science students work with faculty on a broad array of research projects.
鈥淲e are thrilled to have not one but two outstanding keynote speakers from the local science community for this year鈥檚 symposium,鈥 SCSE Coordinator said. 鈥淭hey serve as an example to our students that hard work and research lead to meaningful and important careers in the sciences, careers that have immediate impact on the community around us.鈥
Student oral presentations will take place in the Golden Eagles room from 9:15 a.m. to noon and are open to the public. The lunch and keynote speaker are by RSVP only, but the afternoon student poster session, which will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Village Square, is open to the Northeastern community.
