The  and 天天吃瓜 are pleased to announce their Spring 2025 film series. 

 

Screenings will be held in the Auditorium of the University鈥檚 Main Campus, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Chicago. Tickets cost $5 with a Northeastern ID and $10 for the general public. If anyone is interested in attending, but is having financial hardships, please contact info@chicagofilmsociety.org. Complimentary parking for audience members on Wednesday nights is available in Parking Lot D adjacent to the Bryn Mawr entrance.

 

Additional screenings take place at the , 3733 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago. 

 

This is the Chicago Film Society鈥檚 and Northeastern鈥檚 25th and final season of collaboration, which is sponsored by the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre. Highlights include 鈥淭he Love Parade鈥 (the 1929 Ernst Lubitsch film starring Jeanette MacDonald and Maurice Chevalier), 鈥淐orn鈥檚-A-Poppin鈥欌 (a CFS restoration of a 1955 film co-written by Robert Altman), 鈥淢y Winnipeg鈥 (Guy Maddin鈥檚 2007 鈥渄ocu-fantasia鈥 about his homeland of Canada), 鈥淟ight of Day鈥 (starring Michael J. Fox and Joan Jett) and 鈥淭he Band Wagon鈥 (Vincente Minnelli鈥檚 1953 Technicolor musical starring Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse).

 

鈥淚t has been a wonderful 10 years of this collaboration where the NEIU community has been able to watch some of the greatest films of all time lovingly projected on 35mm celluloid film,鈥 said Professor of Communication, Media and Theatre Shayne Pepper, who helped foster the partnership between Northeastern and the Chicago Film Society. 鈥淭his is a rare opportunity to see these movies on actual 35mm film. So, if you love cinema, don鈥檛 miss out!鈥
